Art journal layout: FROZEN

Hi
Here's page #6 of my art journal..will update page 5 soon.. I totally forgot doing that :D

Frozen is always a movie close to my heart with lots of bittersweet memories as i watched it along with someone whom i miss the most.. Well all that apart, what an experience to watch the movie in 3D.!
One of the very few disney movies where true love's kiss isn't the only act of true love.!
"Let it go" song always gives me goosebumps & i relate myself very much to the lyrics.. & who won't love Olaf.! :D
When i happened to watch the movie again recently i simply couldn't resist making this layout..
Sorry for that lengthy personal write up :D Now for the step by step (beware it's loooong too :D)

Background:
The cover picture of the movie was my inspiration & i wanted to achieve that "frosty " look.! I applied white glue & adhered tissue paper over it making lots of crinkles on the way.. Then applied gesso over the whole page & let it dry overnight. (Dats a first time.. I usually do things at a stretch:D)

Then applied salty ocean distress paint with fingers & diluting a little so that it reaches all the crevices.. Then i took a damp baby wipe & grazed over the surface exposing the gesso on the raised areas..
Then added chipped sapphire DI at the edges..Repeated the process until i achieved the desired look..applied Liquitex matte gel medium to seal everything & to get a nonporous work surface for shading.

Snowflakes:
I had limited supplies of snowflake images.. A punch & a stamp.. I punched out few of 'em out of Brustro iridescent white paper..
On the same paper i used the stamp(from the "noel" stampset) & heat embossed with 'wow' clear sparkle EP & fussy cut it.!! Yes i loved cutting them out & also the results.. When i stuck them on the bg i used a sky blue fine liner pen to add the details.

Characters:
I did some free hand sketching of the characters & transferred to watercolor paper using carbon paper.. (It resists distress inks)
Outlined using black Staedtler waterproof fine liner pen & colored using distress inks..
(Am giving the detailed & complete color list below. U can totally skip this part:) )

For the skin colors, i used spun sugar & worn lipstick for Elsa, scattered straw & worn lipstick for Anna..
Hair:
Elsa: base colour with a very diluted & light shade of grey using memento London fog ink.. Details with fineliner pen..
Anna: scattered straw for the Base & wild honey for the darker shade.  Added details with brown & white fineliners..
Dress:
Elsa: i used peacock feathers DI. This is my most favorite color in the range :)
Added wink of stella clear glitter.. The shimmer is just wow.. I let it dry completely.. Then added distress crackle paint "clear rock candy" to add more details.... Finally added some highlights with white gel pen..

Anna: i used memento rosebud ink for the cloak & added details with purple glitter pen.. Black soot DI, gold gel pen & blue watercolor pencil for the remaining part..
Olaf:
I added a light shade of grey with black soot DI.. & blue shade with uniball posca marker.. Then blended everything with the white marker..
Used orange, red & white fineliners for the nose.. I fussy cut only the body part.. Used Ranger black enamel accents to draw the sticks as well as the buttons.. Some highlights given with white gel pen..

'Snow' Quote:
I stamped the quote with Tim Holtz worn text stampset & salty ocean DI. then wrote over it with "Snow marker" & puffed it up with heat tool.. I wasn't quite satisfied with it.. Then added white enamel accents over it & also had to use my uniball signo white gel pen..

Seriously i went a little overboard to get that white right :D
(Also added some 'snow' in the bg)

Shading:
I used different shades of blue from my "Flamingo" water based marker set for the shading..

Frame:
I applied camlin white gesso all around with a palette knife, framing the whole scene together.. When it dried i added "glass bead glitter gel" from faber castell randomly over it.. I luv luv luv it :)

That completes my layout.. Am really sorry that this was a very lengthy lengthy post.. But i just can't stop talking about this sparkly snowy goodness :D
