Rainbow card set

   It feels so good to be posting again in my blog which i haven't been doing a lot lately..
Here's a CAS card+book mark set

Watercolored with Distress inks (brick red, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, salty ocean, dusty concord, worn lipstick) my favorite rainbow combination from the DI palette.

Sorry looking puppy card

Hi..
   Here's another CAS card with a hand drawn image :)

I immediately fell in love with this image as soon as i saw it.. I don't have the link to the reference pic now :( will link here if i find it :)
Did a rough sketching of the puppy, colored using watercolor pencils & uniball signo white pen & then Fussy cut..

For the bg, I sponged some salty ocean DI & colorbox lime ink, added some white splashes for texture.. Doodled some grass & written the sentiment with 0.05mm fineliner..

I usually don't post the behind the scene pics but i simply couldn't resist sharing this one.! ;) hope that's okay :)

Happy minion

   Am so exciteddd.! My first ever COPIC experience & it's wonderful...!!!
I made this card for that awesome friend who presented me with the marker set :)

I did some ink smooshing with acetate sheet & DIs (salty ocean, peacock feathers, squeezed lemonade, chipped sapphire) to create the bg..

Doodled the minion & balloon.. Colored the minion using basic copic colors, added googly eyes & fussy cut..

Sentiment is handwritten to go with the fun feel :) i so very much love how this card turned out to be.. I hope my friend likes it too :)

Mixed media Valentine card

  It's been a while since i posted on my blog :)
Here's a mixed media card i made

I did this for my guest designer post over at ICR where the challenge was to use any row or column from the tic tac toe board with the twist of using a mandala..

I challenged myself to use all the elements in the board :)

Am really sorry that i don't have any pictures of the making.. I'll just give a word description below.. Pls read on if you are interested :)

I began by heat embossing the bg by repeatedly stamping the two designs alternately.. This is from the WRMK filigree stamp set.. I always try to expand tbe use of stamps..
I then smooshed distress inks dusty concord & worn lipstick (emboss resist technique)
I also added some memnto inks (lilac posies, grape jelly, rose pink) over that.. These are dye inks & they relatively move less when compared to distress inks.. So u end up with lots of textures..

I stamped the sentiment (generously sent to me by Varshitha from varnas creations) with versamark ink on a heart vellum die cut which again is a gift from a dear crafty Sathya & heat embossed with platinum embossing powder..
Added some wooden hearts & a ribbon bow.. to finish off i prepped a pink card base & did some stencilling with white pigment ink for added interest & stuck the panel with foam tape:)

I did another card following the same steps on request from a friend.. Am glad she liked it :)
