Mudra first birthday blog hop

Hello everyone.!
Am so excited to be a part of Mudra's first birthday Here hop . Hope you have reached my blog from the super awesome crafter Neha Bhatt's blog Here. If you haven't, then please do check out the full details of the blog hop Here .

Mudra stamps are always close to my heart as i've been part of their journey from the very beginning and watched their progress with awe.! I can never say enough about the quality of the stamps. They stamp super crisp every single time and are easy to clean and store! Well of course they come in this amazing packaging andddd they are budget friendly which is a boon to any crafter.

Today I've two cards and a cool DIY project to share with you. I've used the Geometric nature stampset from Mudra's new release.

Card 1:

This is a very subtle card mostly inspired by the beautiful sentiment.
Firstly I heat embossed the geometric butterfly on white cardstock  with gold embossing powder.
Then i colored the image with different shades of pink Zig pens.
I heat embossed the same image on vellum, fussy cut and layered on top of the colored butterfly sticking only at the center to add more dimension.

Finally I added some trail of sequins, rhinestones and gold embossed sentiment to match the whole card.

Card 2:

Here's a very quick and easy card. I used the same technique as the previous card but I've colored directly on the vellum this time. You can see the stark contrast between the two images here.

I added some washi tape to add some interest and stamped the sentiment with memento Danube blue ink.

DIY Project:
Here's a custom phone case which you can change any time you wish.!!!

Get a polymer clear case for your phone. Trace the outline of the cover on watercolor paper (which isn't too thick) and cut out to the size which fits snugly inside.
Add a wash of water and then add distress inks in the desired color combination.
After it is completely dry, spritz some water droplets and let it dry.

Finally heat emboss the sentiment with white EP and add some white gesso splashes to finish off.
Now you can change the look of your phone anytime to your heart's content without burning a hole in your pocket.!!!

I hope you liked my projects.!! Do lemme know your comments :)

Mixed media ATC - Acorn House

Hello everyone.!

Firstly I would like to apologize for not being so active in blogland and other social media..! I am quite occupied with preparing for my exams and travelling about 4 hrs to work everyday.!! I wanted to make this post long back but found the time right now.! So here's another mixed media ATC..

Am sharing a pictorial of the process here..
I first sketched out the rough version of the hut & traced it out with black fine liner pen..

I mixed mica flakes and gesso to add on the head portion..

Painted the base with brown acrylic paint, applied crackle paint and then added a top coat of orange acrylic paint..

Painted the acorn head with brown and black acrylic paint..

Added all the exposed bricks and stairs with texture paste...

Added some highlights by dry brushing with gesso.. It also brings out the relief areas..

I decided later on to make the door an interactive one.. So here's a little surprise inside :) the door knob is made out of clay & painted gold..

A little photo editing to give a fairy tale feel ;)

Hope you liked it. I hope to be back soon for my craft routine in few weeks and also make visits around blogland.!!
Thanks for your support & love <3

I used the "violet pearl" embossing powder from WOW & I'm in love with this wonderful EP.!!

Mixed media ATCs Neon

Hello my dear friends..
It has been so long since I posted on my blog other than DT commitments.. I really wanted to break the spell :D
I plan to make a "series" of mixed media ATCs which i've done in the past with sone insights to the making... Beginning with the latest one I've created, theme being NEON.

I started off by adhering paper from an onld novel to my CS base. Then adhered some neon papers in strips to build some layers..

Added wash of gesso to mute down the bg.. Colored the area with gelatos (limoncello, orange soda, bubblegum, snow cone) some random bg stamping to add more textures..
Added some chunky glitter in neon colors randomly..
Added a punched out layered flower in neon colors again, quote on the vellum & some shredded pieces of neon papers which i used before...

Finally added some white splashes with white gel pen & black Distress ink along the edges.!! Done.

Hope you liked this project. Do lemme know your comments on whether you would like this mixed media ATC series :)
